architect unleashed!

it's taken 6 long years and 4 different drawing styles, but finally the architect is being published... online... for now... (i'll explain later). :D

on may 1, the 70 page graphic novel can be viewed at bigheadpress. 3 new pages every week until the story ends.

if the story attracts sufficient attention, then it gets published in printed format. here's hoping, finger's crossed.

created by mike baron, drawn by me, coloured by mike kilgore and lettered by scott bieser, it weaves a tale of murder, adultery, sex, jealousy, betrayal and mushrooms. what the?

check it out to find out folks! it's free. here's the cover as an incentive. heh.

back from NY commissions and what not

wow. had an excellent time in NY city. sigh seeing to the max. would love to live and work in the city even if it's for a little bit. met up with DC. didn't get a chance to meet up with marvel. security at both those places are tight! loads of photo reference since almost everything in comicdom happens in NY city or a backdrop based on the big apple.

did a couple pinups yesterday. one is a cover for liberty movement for my bud, dwight. should be coming out soon. the other was a commission of darth maul and elektra. weird combo, but the red and black colours gel come to think of it. :) more soon.

wolvie grayscale test

gearing up for new york again! deadline counting down! WOO. the pressure. yesterday went supplies shopping. haven't used markers in a very long time since photoshop was invented. but thought i might try adding a little something to my convention pieces. here's a test on wolvie's head. thoughts? anyways, i think i'll need to get another darker marker. 3 perhaps in all. light, mid, and dark. i should be able to make the piece shine better perhaps. right now, just feels like it's missing something.

i had a whole bunch of markers when i was living in australia. couldn't bring em all over when we moved to london. wish i had my markers with me now tho. things are so expensive here in london. anyways, wolvie grayscales...

spidey vs magneto

still working and trying to finish up the last bits of issue 136 of spidey uk. currently listening to michael jackson's classic stuff, 'rock with u, etc'. yes, that's right, i do like jacko. not for his recent weird antics but his old music stuff still rocks. haha. when it comes to music, i listen to the beats first and then the lyrics. loved the beats on jacko's stuff.

just heard 'bad' and looking back and i remembered the video and thought of what jacko in his mind envisioned as bad boys and laughed my head off. this was done in the 90s. but the vision he had was very 80s. like out of the 'fame' tv series. i think i might go listen to method man and redman after this. lol.

finally got my working table back. for the last week i had to move to another room to work cause some friends came over from perth to visit london and they've been crashing at our pad. so i haven't had my normality conditions of work. hopefully, i'll kick into full gear and start pushing these pages out now. they've gone to scotland to visit family until sunday. they'll be back by then and if i haven't finished all i have to do, i'll have to move back to the make shift work area. i'm aiming to be waaay finished by then tho. cause new york will be around the corner after that and i don't wanna be doing last minute stuff.

here's a panel from a page of 136. thought u might like to see a rough before i go to finish inks. magneto getting his butt kicked by a very angry spidey. the subsequent panels were too visually disturbing to show. haha. just kidding. this is aimed as a kid's book after all. no doubt editors will have to colour in what was meant to be blood as saliva.

colours

damn. week gone by. nursing myself back from a slight flu. it seems that after every major deadline, my body says, 'that's it. u're taking a break'. feeling a bit better now so i'm on to the next issue of spiderman uk with another deadline approaching soon. sigh.

i'm also trying to finish this up before i head off to new york. i managed to schedule a meeting with DC and trying for a possible marvel meeting. all just to get inside and see the internal working machine of these two power houses.

just received some awesome colours back for the cover of spiderman uk 134 from jeremy and sequentials from james. both are putting the extra effort into these pages and u can tell. unbelievable talent.
